Kevin Pietersen

South African-born batsman and occasional off-spin bowler. He had an English mother so qualified to play cricket for England, which he did with flamboyant style between July 2005 and January 2014, playing 104 Test matches and scoring 8,181 runs. Now plays for Surrey in English domestic cricket, as well as St Lucia Zouks, Melbourne Stars and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Pietersen was highly popular for his ferocious hitting and he became the fastest batsman to reach both 1,000 and 2,000 runs in One Day Internationals and he became the fastest player in terms of days to reach 4,000, 5,000 and 7,000 Test runs. In 2012 The Guardian newspaper called him ‘England’s greatest modern batsman’. He is a member of Wentworth. This is his first appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
